Zone Diet Food - What Zoners Eat?
|
You may have heard of the famous Zone Diet Plan and its many
followers called the Zoners. And yes, this is about a diet
scheme yet do not starve just yet because this is really
something new, which most diet schemes have yet to try. This is
a diet which offers an array of lovely, sumptuous meals, for all
the five recommended daily meals. Now, is that unheard of? Try
typing ‘Zone Diet food’ or something similar to your Google
search box and you’ll find companies that can deliver to your
home Zone-appropriate meals.
You
may ask how hard it is for a Zoner to eat. Not so much. Look at
some of these sample menus and foods:
Sample 1:
Breakfast:
- Egg white and asparagus omelet cooked in olive oil;
- Oatmeal with fresh strawberries
Lunch:
- Broiled chicken breast;
- Mixed salad greens with tomato
with
olive oil salad dressing
- Sliced pear
Dinner:
- Salmon poached in orange juice
- Summer squash and
zucchini sautéed in butter
- Blueberries
Sample 2:
Breakfast:
- French toast made with low carb bread and egg
whites, topped with light syrup;
- Turkey bacon;
- Orange
Lunch:
- Pita pocked stuffed with deli ham, low fat cheese,
mustard, lettuce, tomato and alfalfa sprouts;
- Lettuce and spinach salad
with cucumber, tomato and broccoli, topped with olive oil
and vinegar dressing
Dinner:
- Eggplant Parmesan;
- Baby spinach salad with
strawberries and blackberries, dressed with olive oil and
red wine vinegar
As
you can see, it’s not so hard to eat these foods since they
match the daily menu of a non-zoner yet still allows you to
stick to the diet. What may be striking is the fact that most
foods in the menu have to be prepared, thus influencing one to
cook in order to eat and be “in the Zone”. But this does not
necessarily mean that those who don’t have time to cook can’t
follow the Zone diet nor does it mean that a Zoner can’t eat
out.
